Hokie Football
How about that Hokie Football team with 7 wins in a row?! We've really enjoyed seeing you all out each week and hope to see more of you as the season draws to a close. For the next 2 weeks the Hokies kick off on the road at 12:30pm Pacific time. You can find us out at Chelsea Pub and Lounge in Hermosa or at Dillon's Irish Pub in Hollywood.

Hokie Basketball - LIVE in Anaheim
The Hokie Basketball team enters the season ranked in the top 25 and they are coming to Anaheim for Thanksgiving weekend! Buy your tickets at www.lahokies.com by Monday, the 15th of November, to take advantage of our group 50% discount! The team is guaranteed to play Thursday, Friday, and Sunday so you definitely won't miss the UVA game on Saturday. We'll be meeting with alumni from Orange County, San Diego, and beyond for these games so the atmosphere is sure to be great!

Tax Deductions for Charitable Contributions
As you consider making charitable contributions at the end of the year, think about donating to the Los Angeles area Hokie Alumni Scholarship Fund. Last year we were able to provide one local student with a $1,000 scholarship to help offset the high costs of his out-of-state tuition. With your help, we can expand this program to help even more Virginia Tech students from our area.

2009-2010 Outstanding Chapter Award
At the Chapter Officers Forum in September, the Los Angeles Chapter received the Outstanding Chapter Award for 2009-2010. This is an important recognition of appreciation for the many volunteers that worked to begin our scholarship program, coordinate our football parties, and plan our great Spring wine tasting event. Thank you for your hard work and deciation to ensuring that our connection to Virginia Tech remains strong throughout Southern California.

To all of you, best wishes for the coming holiday season. We hope to see you soon at one of our Fall events. In January, we'll be back with other opportunities to socialize through basketball parties and our second annual wine tasting social.
